Unprofessional

I used to love working at my Friendly Local Game Store. It felt like all my years of playing dozens upon dozens of role-playing games and boardgames and card games was finally paying off: I could share my expertise with customers, introducing them to games they'd never have approached before, and indirectly help support the designers that I admired so much.

That all changed during the pandemic, when my old bosses decided to sell the store to a larger company. Little by little, all those characteristics of a "friendly local game store" began to disappear, our autonomy was chipped away, our opportunities for advancement vanished, and even our ability to communicate with our customers was curtailed.

After ten long years, I've decided to part ways, and this game, Unprofessional, is my resignation letter. It was somewhat coincidental that it lined up with the Breathless Game Jam 2.
